Aircraft Simulator Avionics Design
We relish the chance to dive into code, which means we can build custom interfaces for our cockpits and realistic flight simulators. As you can imagine, having flight simulator development capabilities in-house allows us to train our flight and control room crews prior to flight test.
Part Task Trainer Development
Part Task Trainers (PTTs) are designed to provide training for a specific sub-area of an aircraft or maintenance system, for isolated tasks or training on specific sets of equipment. They fulfil a need for a special device, or focus, through training in a comprehensive simulator. This is effective when the original environment is uneconomic or it is not possible to have live training.
Flight Dynamics Modeling
Photonsight develops Flight Dynamics Models that can be used primarily in flight training devices. Photonsight’s flight models have been used in flight simulators that are of up to Level D fidelity standards. Flight Dynamic Models include a representation of the aerodynamic behavior, autopilot models, propulsion system (engine, transmission, etc.) models, etc. for rotary-wing platforms.

Aural Cues Development
The aural cue system is required to generate the aircraft and environmental sounds for the simulator. These are all sounds heard except any sounds via the crew headset, which fall into the domain of the communications simulation. This is an important aspect for a commercial simulator, since the level of realism experienced by the flight-crew is greatly enhanced by a good sounding simulation. Typically these sounds include:
- Engines
- Landing Gear
- Ground Contact
- Aerodynamic Hiss
- Air-conditioning
